Hurricane Florence – BHGE Agfa Film Delivery Interruptions
This morning, 9/11/18, TED received the notice below from BHGE’s Richard Pugh. We felt it important to forward this notice to our customers as soon as possible so they would understand and have the opportunity to prepare for possible film/chemistry delivery interruptions.
We will do our very best to manage our warehouse inventories and to distribute film as evenly as possible in an effort to help avoid issues with film shortages. Obviously, what’s in our warehouses at the moment may be what we have to work with for several days or weeks as we depend on regular stock deliveries to maintain adequate Agfa film/chem inventory to service your account.
Notice from BHGE:
“As you know, BHGE Agfa Film Products enter the US thru the port in Charleston, SC. This includes master rolls and some finished products. All Agfa NDT Films used in North America are shipped from our production facility in Charleston. Unfortunately, Hurricane Florence has caused the Governor of South Carolina to declare a state of emergency. Charleston has today closed the interstate to all inbound traffic. All major roads will be used for the local population evacuation prior to the storm. Trucks will not be able to pick up film at our Charleston plant. Hurricane Florence is now a category 4 hurricane and has forced the closure of the port in Charleston with all inbound ships being advised to take evasive routes.
Under these circumstances, be advised that Agfa will not be able to make any additional shipments of film out of Charleston this week. Trucks that were loaded this morning are in route.”
“We ask for your understanding during these difficult days for our friends and colleagues in Charleston.”
